Dozens of California Providers Win National Bronze Quality Award

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Health Care Association (AHCA) has named 33 California skilled nursing providers as recipients of the 2013 National Bronze Quality award.  The national program provides a pathway for providers of long term care services to journey towards performance excellence.

The program is based on the core values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program and has three progressive step levels.  Applicants are judged by trained examiners who provide feedback on opportunities for improvement to support continuous learning. Facilities must achieve an award at each level to progress to the next level.

Bronze winners must develop an organizational profile including vision and mission statements, an awareness of their environment and customers’ expectations, and a demonstration of their ability to improve a process.

“It’s heartening to see so many of our members participate in this national quality awards program,” said Jim Gomez, CAHF CEO/president. “Providing quality care is the centerpiece of the array of services we provide each year to our 300,000 skilled nursing center residents.”
