Washington, DC – The American Health Care Association (AHCA) announced today it was able to stave off the use of Medicaid provider assessment thresholds as the student loan pay-for House and Senate leaders initially considered.  Earlier this month, House and Senate proposals sought to apply reductions in Medicaid provider tax thresholds to avert student loan interest rate hikes on July 1. The House of Representatives passed the measure by a vote of 373 to 52, and the Senate passed the bill 74 to 19.
