Washington Health Care Association Celebrates 30 Years

In 1985, a group of providers organized as the Washington State Health Facilities Association (WSHFA) worked together to become part of the American Health Care Association (AHCA), and Washington Health Care Association (WHCA) was born.  Over the past 30 years, the organization has grown in number and in strength.  WHCA has also grown in knowledge and

understanding and now represents 60 percent of assisted living communities and 85 percent of skilled nursing communities in Washington.  The WHCA board is progressive, strategic, and purposeful in the decisions they make.  Our members have engaged in quality initiatives to ensure residents receive the highest level of quality care, and every day we continue to make a positive impact on the public perception of long term care.

This year, WHCA will celebrate our 30th birthday in a variety of ways, one of which will be a special luncheon hosted during the Annual Convention in May.  There, we will celebrate and welcome new members, share our accomplishments, reminisce about the days gone by and share our vision for the future.  We hope you can join us at the Annual Convention, and more importantly, that our members will continue to partner with us as we work to achieve even greater things in the years ahead.
